Jo began painting in her teens and earned a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from the University of North Carolina. Jo paints in watercolor and oils, both “en plein air” and in her studio. Most of her paintings depict views from the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smoky Mountains. Much of her art comes from her imagination, stimulated by her observation of the Applachians’ changing scenes.
